It's time for the periodic guide to finding Victor D. Infante on the Internet, wherein I reveal that I am a complete and utter nerd.

So. Here's where I am, and how-often you'll find me there.

*Basic sites: VictorInfante.com remains the central Web portal into my writing career. I'm also the editor in chief of The November 3rd Club and write a column for GotPoetry, which is syndicated here to LJ by friending [livejournal.com profile] writefailure.

*My Livejournal blog remains my main point of contact with the outside world for promoting my writing, projects, etc. Along with ranting about The Man and talking about comic books. I am currently obsessed with the transforming class system and the disintegrating concept of the nation state, which I'll probably be chatting about over at Die Puny Humans.

*Out of the "connectivity" sites I keep accounts at, MySpace remains the most interesting, both because of the plethora of indie music available there, and the growing number of poets who are putting up MP3s of their work. It's a goal for the New Year to put MP3s up on my account, but I've not gotten there yet.

*I rarely every look at my Friendster page anymore, all though it's gained a few more interesting features. Tribe is somewhat less interesting, especially now that they're threatening to crack down on adult content. They don't seem to understand that the only people using the site effectively are the SF poly community. Orkut is near-useless, but eh, what the hell. I can be found under all three of these places under the name, "Victor Infante."

So the big news today is that CIA has fired a senior analyst for leaking their secret prisons to the press. The GOP is calling for the woman's head. Me? I think history is going to hail her as a whistleblower and a hero. But more to the point, it's further indication that the CIA is at war with itself, or more to the point, career CIA officials are in deep, deep, conflict with their civilian leadership. I think I know which side I'll place bets on.

I've been meaning to bring this up for some time now, but the quite worthy Stephen Elliott has founded a Political Action Committee for writers to support liberal political candidates. For more information, visit LitPAC's Web site, and give him some support.

[livejournal.com profile] myainsel will be doing a feature at Jester's (124 Elm Street, Westfield, MA) this coming Monday, April 24th. There's an open mike with sign-ups at 6:30 and the show begins at 7:30.

This set should be almost entirely new material from the past couple months. She'll also be debuting her new musical duo (today's tentative name: Flash Paper Origami) she's been working on with [livejournal.com profile] urbanitus, a talented poet in his own right and an amazing musician.

If you're free and in the area, come on down!

(And in a strange coincidence, I'll be featuring there the Monday after. Hmmm....)

Aw, yeah
