Cryptic Questions for writers

ETA: As always with the cryptic questions, I'll leave people to define the term "important" as they will. Because really, I'm as much interested in that as I am the actual answers.
I have my opinions, of course, and I've never been shy about sharing them, but I'm curious what other people think.
And of course, comments will be screened so you don't have to get yourself in trouble by not naming your friends. Be honest with me.
