OK. We've just finished season one of Veronica Mars and ... wow. I was terribly disappointed in the show at first, but kept watching, and have to say, got hooked in there somewhere.

I called who killed Lilly Kane about 30 seconds before the reveal, and I have to say, I literally said "Oh my God" when I figured it out, because it all added up.

Just pissed off that we didn't get any resolution to the Weevil/Logan storyline because, well, Lea and I both totally became Veronica/Logan shippers. Which is weird, because neither of us ship much.

DON'T SPOIL ME FOR SEASON TWO. (But uhm, if you have tapes...)

Nothing on my ballot but local offices, and let me tell ya, in Worcester that's not invigorating. In fact, the ballot was pretty much identical to last elections. Refused to vote to re-elect the mayor, though. Voted instead for Konnie Lukes -- because she's a Republocrat, but has enough guts to stand up and tell the rest of the Council when they're full of it.

Also voted for Juan Gomez (R), William Coleman (D) and Sharon Eagan (G), because I like troublemakers.

Someone should have nailed the city to the wall for numbers on the Arts District now that ARTSWorcester is moving. I want to know exactly how much money was poured into Main South in the form of tax incentives, and how much of that went to political allies of the mayor who otherwise couldn't care less about an Arts District. We may never know, but I doubt we'll see those same incentives going to Quinsig Village, where most of the other arts groups have moved, or to Water Street, the quickly developing gay district where things are starting to happen. (And where people still think they're going to tear out the street to run a canal. Never seen an arts district that wasn't, ultimately, a con game.)

Ah, Worcester, White Elephant graveyard. When will the city learn to stop pining for what they want there, and start nurturing what is.

The mid-term elections will be telling, certainly -- although GOP losses in N.J. and Virginia mostly just mean the Dems haven't lost ground (and really, Arnold can chalk his Calif. losses up to his own bad self.)

Still, political losses are political losses, and in politics, perception is king.

That being said, perhaps Bush's descent into Nixonhood is best exemplified by the discovery that he keeps an enemies list.

Real surprises on it? I'm not on the list, but my ferret was #8,979.

Well
