Safe and Sound in California

The trip across the U.S. was uneventful, save for pehaps finishing the "Serenity" novelization and watching three lackluster episodes of Mad TV. The Ministry of Unknown Science, the sketch comedy show at Theory Labs, was much, much better. Seriously, if you're in the SoCal area and enjoy irrevenrent, slightly blasphemous humor, this is the show for you!. We'd been on our feet for nearly 24 hours by the time we got there, and it was so VERY much worth it. Was also good to catch up with [livejournal.com profile] mattshawproblem. Also met [livejournal.com profile] capnshady (whom I'd actually met before) and finally met [livejournal.com profile] avice in person, which was wicked cool.

As before, we are eating our way through Southern California. Had lunch with my family yesterday at Javier's, which is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, and had a grand old time. Had dim sum this morning with [livejournal.com profile] vsprtn, [livejournal.com profile] el3mo and [livejournal.com profile] bast_veiled, which was amazing. And still there are restuarants to come...

Birthday happenings later today with [livejournal.com profile] rubislippers, [livejournal.com profile] inkog_neato and others. Should be fun. Reading Wednesday at The Ugly Mug, which may well be off the hook.

Lot of time in the car. So far, we've had a highly LA-appropriate soundtrack: Elliot Smith, the Clear and Mutaytor, with a little Greg Brown thrown in for good measure.
